LOS ANGELES, CA – July 24, 2015 – The Visibility Project (The ViP) proudly presents, “A Revolutionary’s Closet,” – a debut collection designed to amplify the ideas and voices of the marginalized. Inaugural designs include original “Not Today Satan!,” “Fight On!,” and “Hella Melanin,” alongside veteran “Hillman Alumni” and “Xavier Alumni” tees, hoodies, tanks, and more.
Conceptualized by staff members at The ViP, the unique collection – available online only – combines pop culture references with a radical vision of the future and celebrations of heritage. Proceeds from the shop will go toward production costs and expanding our audience. The special edition, “Fight On!” line will contribute directly to advocacy for those affected by Sickle Cell Disease.
A Revolutionary’s Closet is open to the public today. All items are on sale until Friday, August 7, 2015.
ABOUT THE VISIBILITY PROJECT
The Visibility Project is a stage rigged with a fixed spotlight on artists and playmakers of color and the LGBTQ community. We’re a platform that endeavors to showcase the work from communities of marginalized persons while creating conversations about diversity, representation, visibility and other issues of those who don’t find themselves authentically and/or fully represented in mainstream media. Within the realm of The Visibility Project you will find news coverage, profiles, feature pieces and ongoing discourse on race, gender, sexuality and more as they are displayed and discussed by persons and groups who choose to use their voices.
